What motivated you to obtain your educational/career goals? I had a personal desire to see and do things different from most people in my tribal community, without leaving it all behind, family encouragement, classmates and colleagues with similar backgrounds and similar aspirations
What steps did you take to achieve those goals? I went away from home for college and graduate education for a completely different experience, but always stayed in contact with family and visited home as often as possible.
Describe any obstacles or barriers to success that you encountered along your path: Homesickness; Lack of money for travel home to stay connected;Lack of clear focus as to where I wanted to end up
What advice do you have for college students? Take the time during/after college to find out what it is you really enjoy doing, then figure out how to turn that into your career and develop a plan on how to get there. Also, start saving money now, no matter how little – financial freedom will enable many other freedoms in your life.
